ROAD TO REDEMPTION.

As  I expected, the IBF  demanded an immediate rematch between bantamweights, Abner Mares and Joseph Agbeko.  After a thorough review of  the Mares/Agbeko fight footage, Daryl Peoples (IBF  president) and Lindsey Tucker (organization championship chairman) reached out to the Nevada commision, Abner Mares promoter (Golden Boy), as well as  Joseph Agbeko’s promoter (Don King) requesting an immediate rematch. The Peoples and Tucker review of the fight,  determined that the fight was negatively effected by inappropriate refereeing by Russell Mora, who was in direct violation of the rules. It was clear throughout the course of the fight that Mares continuously hit Agbeko below the belt. Referee Mora, gave several warnings but never deducted any points from Mares. The rematch will be held no later than December 14, with no tune-up fights in between. Hopefully this time a more experienced referee will be appointed , to get the job done fairly and correctly!
